Immigration to Canada As a Refugee

Immigration to Canada is not the same as being granted permanent residency. Immigrants must first apply for refugee status in the United States. In cases where the applicant is not eligible for refugee status, they may proceed with applying for humanitarian relief. This process can take up to six months.
